History

Viewpoint is a vertical shoot'em up utilizing a unique 3D isometric perspective, which made a huge visual impact upon its release in 1992. Developed by Sammy for SNK's hardware, it stands out for its pre-rendered graphics that simulate detailed three-dimensional mechanical environments and futuristic robotic enemies. Players pilot a starship that must dodge intricate terrain hazards and enemy waves while managing charged shots and high-power bombs. Its difficulty is legendary and highly demanding, requiring memorization and precise reflexes. It also features an acclaimed soundtrack with electronic funk and jazz rhythms.
